Anyways, I notice I don’t have a specific style. I like different shapes and colors (but not together, thou). I’m into details and when I see something I know how to identify what I like about it and what I don’t. But the true problem is that I don’t know how to create something beautiful out of nothing. I know how to fix it or add what it’s missing but the complete portrait, I have no idea how to get there. Hopefully my roommate has some good ideas.
Here in my island we don’t have Ikea. Everyone keeps telling me how amazing that place is. I order a catalog and I agree. I want to visit Ikea so bad. It has so many little things to transform a place from average to outstanding. If you know any good place for décor shopping in NYC or a site to browse for ideas, please let me know.
These are some ideas that I like:
I’m into purple or at least I really like these photos, specially the right one (without the carpet). It has such an amazing mixture and splash of colors.

How amazing is the glittery wallpaper? Beautiful! Btw the one the right is what I think I’m going for. The pastel colors are in the right amount and look just perfect.

These are an outstanding view. Who cool is the orange and the pink together? Also, I like how the green stand out in the right one.

I tend to like blue. It’s really easy to work with and looks delicate but not too girly. I like how they play with different chairs on the one from the left.

I love books so I long desire to have a bookcase to be part of the décor. I don’t like the green incorporated here. Btw Molly Sims office is rocking my world.

hey there's an Ikea store in Brooklyn and in NJ, I'm not sure how big the one in brooklyn is but the one in NJ is HUGE!! hope this helps and good luck!!
I am loving all these looks! Very chic and stylish!

Try to find vintage stuff. Even stores like Pier 1, Pottery Barn, etc if you find a piece with a scratch or something you can negotiate the price. My gf got her amazing brazilian cherrywood dining table for only $125 (originally $900) because of a scratch along the side. She negotiated and ended up with a bargain and was able to buff, sand, and paint the scratch. It's not even noticeable now. Happy shopping!
I love all the pictures, the pinks are so pretty!
Yeah, your friend is probably right about the wallpaper thing. But they make a lot of great removable wall "decals" that might give the illusion of wallpaper, or at least add some pattern and pop to a wall. You can find them almost anywhere, but my favorite place to get these is Blik. They have the most unusual selection, and it looks like a painting when you apply it. I purchased the "Insomnia" decal - sheep with green tally marks - and put it over my bed in my former apartment. Check them out at http://www.whatisblik.com/. Can't wait to see what you end up doing!
All of those pictures are really lovely! I would be in trouble if i will be the one choosing because i love them all!
all of these pictures are great! i dream of having a fabulous book shelf too!
oh gosh! i loved those picsss!! abs. great idea! i was like.. i love this one.. no wait also this one.. and this one... and the i realized o loved them all .. lol! now you've inspired me to decorate my room here at my house.! though I might be moving out this summer to get my masters in San Juan .. hahaha but I'll be sure needing your help by then too!
great post
I love all your ideas, I think what you should do to help you make a decision is to think about what kind of mood you're in most of the time... blues and purples to me are very cool and calming (the ones you picked anyway) and the light pinks and peaches are very intimate, flirty, makes me think of victorias secret before the PINK line took over haha... I like you could not choose easily... good luck!
There are all amazing! I'm with you about the bookcase, I love books! I love the glitter wallpaper too!
Oh, you have now inspired me! I am just moving out of the place I share with my partner, until we hear whether he can stay in Aus, and if he can we will be moving in together again - and this time I want to decorate as beautifully as these pics.
I vote the one with the green curtain thing!

Hi there! Thanks for commenting on my blog! :o) I really love the pictures you posted here...definitely gave me some ideas for my home!
PS
Loving your blog!
Adding a bookshelf to your apartment is a great idea. I'm not allowed to paint in my apartment and my bookshelf has done me wonders. It not only personalized my place but added a much needed boost of colour via my very colourful and plentiful book covers! Good luck!! And thanks for commenting on my blog. I'm following your lovely blog now too xx
New reader here!! What a fun fun blog you have!

a great alternative to wallpaper is to use light weight cotton, like the kind quilters use or lighter weight, and affixing it to clean walls using cornstarch. Simply use soap and water when its time to move.
Those ideas are great! What do you mean! You don't need any help with decorating! :) I love Ikea too, but unfortunately we don't have one. :( I seriously considered moving just so I could live close to one! Haha!
It's very important to feel like home in your new apartment and I completely know the feeling. I just moved into mine six months ago with the husband and keep getting carried away with new paint job ideas, new floors, new faucets, etc. My husband looks at me like I'm crazy. It looks like you have excellent taste, but I know Living in New York can get really expensive, so I took a little trip to buy all our furniture in Jersey at Ashleys, unclaimed freight and Ikea.
Good luck!
