I adore red carpets! There is something to it that makes it irresistible… the celebrities, the gowns and my crazy day dreaming of picturing me on all those designer gowns! Ooh la la!! This year’s Oscars were awesome! So, last night was the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit (MET Gala). Pretty much ALL of hot Hollywood stepped out for the MET Gala in New York. The event is all about the “American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity” — but I’m rather disappointed with the fashions on the red carpet. There were some ugly dresses and the rest were average looking. Not one that I totally loved. Here is my recap of the MET Gala red carpet…
If I were to attend the Gala (in my wildest and most amazing dream), I probably would’ve gone with something like any of these dresses. Karolina Kurkova and Alessandra Ambrosio look just perfect! Well, I would make Bar Refaeli’s dress a long length and yes, surprisingly I like the cleavage in Sienna's dress!

Ok this ones I kind-of like. I’m not a fan of red and I don’t dig the hole sparkly dress thing but I must admit for reason I found them pretty…

Also I liked these dresses. Not that I love, like I said before, but they were ok and with a bit of work Emma's dress would've been my winner.

I have mixed feeling with the one JLo has. It looks kind-of bridal but it’s the MET Gala so I guess you can get away with anything. Emmy Rossum and Jessica Biel are an example of what I previously said. They look average, boring.

Claire Danes look not that bad but I'm not sure about the hair color with the overall look. In the other hand, Kate looks so plain and why is it that every time I see Taylor I see the same dress? She sticks with only one look, just changes the color and bit less or more sparkle. No hating, it looks fine but girl, give it a twist now and then.

The Worst… What happened with Elizabeth Banks? That looks like something Sienna Miller would wear but honestly I’m not feeling the look on Banks. Lets not even being with Kristen. Dreadful!

I’m very very disappointed in Maggie Gyllenhaal… She rocked at the Oscars and why this? It’s just plain ugly! I'm not feeling the print on Renee and the other dress is one of my worst nightmares!

I give props to Katie for creativity but a glowing dress? Oh, well it's Katie. And about the others… do I really need to say something? Ugh, I would never ever ever hire their stylists!
Did you loved or strongly dislike any?

i would have to agree with all of your comments on the dresses! i think my favorite is emma watson's and my least favorite it january jones (i think that's her in the last group!) i don't understand why someone would think that looks good!

I would have to say that clothes fasinate me, the good the bad and the ugly, because it is one of those few things that is a real show of individual style.
camille Belle can do no wrong in my opinion! apart from that Marion Cottilard is always immaculate
:)
I loved Katy Perry fun dress but I think only she can pull it off!
I thought some of the dresses were very elegant and the rest were "What were they thinking" kinda dresses!!!
i hadn't seen any, so i'm so glad you shared. i love marion and think she looks gorgeous. as for padma--what happened?!
nothing more fun than seeing beautiful women all decked out. well, okay actually nothing better than a good looking man in an immaculate suit, but i digress!
so glad we get to be friends on 20sb!
Emma was the most beautiful in my opinion :D I loved her dress, makeup and ring.
hey I love this post. love most of the gowns but some are oh-oh no! this is one of the reasons why i love watching awards.
MARION COTTILARD IS AMAZING

january jones' dress is just wretched. that shade of magenta simply doesn't work with her fairness. and then all of the harsh black loop de loops against the satin? oy. i think it's really the satin that is turning me off. i think if it had been a sheer, organza or tulle like magenta something, the essence of the dress could have worked.
i lovved camilla belle's dress. how is that dress just ever so gracefully hanging onto her shoulders?
