I have never tasted french macaroons and I hear they’re quite tasty so I’m sharing this photo as my desire to taste them one day. They are characterized by they smooth, domed top, ruffled circumference, and flat base. Connoisseurs prize a delicate, egg shell-like crust that yields to a moist and airy interior. These French macaroons are different from other macaroons because they are filled with cream or butter like a sandwich cookie. The flavors varieties are limitless, from the traditional (raspberry, chocolate) to the exotic (truffle, matcha tea).
If you have any advice on where to get them in NYC, it would be greatly appreciated. ;)

There is a woman with a blog called Tartlette. She is a baker and food photographer and she makes all different varieties of these little gems. She would be more of a place to get a recipe or to drool over the possibilities that these cookies have for flavor combinations. Check her out, if nothing else, it's magnificent food porn.
